The lefty tossed 5.2 innings of three-hit softball, striking out eight.Syracuse scored the first run of the game in the third inning off an Alyssa Dewes solo home run and jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning following a Dewes grand slam, to give her two home runs and five RBIs. Dewes joined Sydney O’Hara and Faith Cain as the only Orange players with multiple home runs, and O’Hara as the only the only two to hit multiple home runs in a game.SU went into the bottom of the sixth up 6-0 with Romero still on the mound. After giving up two runs, Syracuse head coach Mike Bosch subbed O’Hara in for relief.
