first_imgThe Division I men’s 8-kilometer race is scheduled to begin at 10:20 a.m. while the women’s 6-kilometer race will begin at 11 a.m. The Roy Griak Invitational will feature competitors from 18 Division I program including four nationally ranked teams, No. 8 San Francisco, No. 19 Minnesota, No. 20 Michigan State and No. 23 Iowa State. Two weeks ago, the Bulldogs picked up three top-five finishers at the same course at the Oz Memorial. Senior Bailee Cofer (Overland Park, Kan.) led the women with a third-place finish in 22:48.1, just 13 seconds off the winning pace. Roy Griak Results Sophomore Kyle Brandt (Maple Grove, Minn.) and junior Josh Yeager (Center Point, Iowa) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, for the men. Brandt finished in 20:25.8, followed by Yeager in 20:38.5. Brandt earned MVC Scholar-Athlete Honors of the Week following his outstanding performance. After a week off of competition the Drake University men’s and women’s cross country teams return to competition at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.,Sept. 23.
